The story
Asia Reaves, an ex-convict, takes a job as a maid at the Virgil, an exclusive and mysterious high-rise in New York City. The building is known for its history of disappearances and is managed by Lily Woodhouse. While Asia is settling in, she is attacked by masked intruders, but her combat skills allow her to fight back. She soon discovers that the building is not what it seems, and she must navigate its secrets to find her estranged sister, Maria, who also works at the building. The initial conflict arises as Asia realizes the danger posed by the building's management and the mysterious nature of the residents.

After a traumatic past involving her abusive father, Asia Reaves takes a job as a maid at the Virgil, a New York City high-rise. She is attacked by intruders but survives, eventually meeting the building's manager, Lily, and Lily's husband, Ray. Ray reveals the building is a temple to Satan where residents gain immortality through human sacrifice. Asia finds her sister, Maria, who has been staying at the building for safety. The sisters are hunted by cultists, and during a confrontation, Maria is captured. In a final confrontation on the top floor, the cultists summon Satan via a pig's head. To gain immortality, Maria is forced to choose between her life and Asia's. Maria chooses to sacrifice herself, and Asia becomes immortal. After a final battle where Asia destroys the source of the cult's power, she escapes with Maria's body, only for Maria to resurrect. The sisters flee as the building explodes.
