A young man must race against time to find a legendary spaceship capable of creating a new home for humanity after Earth is destroyed.
The story
In 3028 A.D., a groundbreaking scientific project known as "The Titan Project" incurs the wrath of the Drej, a hostile race of aliens made of pure energy. The Drej launch a massive attack on Earth, forcing the human race to evacuate. Fifteen years later, the remnants of humanity live as refugees in space. Ex-military officer Joseph Korso tracks down a jaded Cale Tucker, who possesses a ring containing a map to the Titan. Korso recruits Cale to join his crew on the spaceship Valkyrie to find the Titan before the Drej can destroy it, as the ship holds the key to creating a new home for humanity.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 3028 A.D., the Drej, a race of energy-based aliens, destroy Earth to prevent humans from using the 'Titan Project' to challenge them. Cale Tucker, the son of a lead researcher, is left with a ring containing a map to the Titan, a ship capable of creating new planets. Fifteen years later, Cale is found by Joseph Korso, who recruits him and a crew—including Akima Kunimoto, Preedex Yoa, Stith, and Gune—to find the ship. They travel through the Andali Nebula and the Ice Rings of Tigrin. Along the way, they face betrayal from Korso and Preed, who secretly deal with the Drej. Cale and Akima eventually reach the Titan, only to find it lacks the power to create a planet. During a final confrontation with the Drej, Korso sacrifices himself to repair the circuit breaker. Cale manages to use the Drej's own energy to power the Titan, which destroys the Drej and creates a new world, 'New Earth,' where humanity can begin anew.
