TKKG - Das Geheimnis um die rätselhafte Mind-Machine (2006)

The two 13-year-old children, Martin and Claudia, disappear without a trace after meeting by a river one evening. Their captors also have the previous kidnapping victim, 10-year-old Benjamin from Schiller High School. Kevin Sudheim, winner of the Jugend forscht competition, has invented a so-called Mind Machine, an indoctrinator for hypnosis training. When he is supposed to present his invention to the students at Felsenstein boarding school, he breaks off his speech and behaves strangely. Kevin’s girlfriend Nadine also disappears after the presentation. It soon emerges that they were all kidnapped by a group led by television presenter Weltmann. The group, which also includes his assistant Eleonora and Hackspecht, conducts experiments on the kidnapped children using Kevin’s Mind Machine, which is meant to boost brain performance through electrical stimulation. Tim, Karl, Klößchen, and Gaby break into Kevin’s house. When they find a prototype of a new Mind Machine there, they call their teacher, Manek, and tell him about it. When the Mind Machine disappears again shortly afterward, they suspect their teacher Manek is behind everything, so Karl spies on their teacher’s computer using a Trojan horse. However, their suspicions about their teacher prove unfounded. By following the company name HS Security, which is on the black van seen at the crime scene, they manage to track down the group and free all the children.
