Full plot (contains spoilers)

Tobias Buntschuh is a brilliant inventor who also owns a large steel and ironworks. A loner by nature, his disability has turned him into an eccentric who has retreated entirely to his magnificent castle. Despite suffering many rejections, however, he has never become a misanthrope or a hater of people. On the contrary, Tobias Buntschuh is praised for his social conscience and willingness to help. One day, events begin to take a dramatic turn: several rival companies, joined together in a trust, attack his life’s work and incite Buntschuh’s workers against him. In addition, after a long time, a woman re-enters Tobias’s life: the beautiful circus dancer Radiana. When the young woman seeks refuge, Tobias gives it to her without any ulterior motives. But once again, hope is dashed. Buntschuh, who has fallen seriously in love with the young woman, ultimately has to let her go, because Radiana has fallen for the younger Lukas, who seems far from indifferent to her. Both of them are determined to spare Tobias Buntschuh the pain of rejection and try not to hurt him. But Tobias knows that under these circumstances he has no chance with the circus girl, so he gives up Radiana and lets the two of them enjoy their budding happiness.
