Tockovi (1998)

The entire film takes place over one long, rainy night, during which Nemanja clashes with a group of reckless, aggressive people. They accuse him of being the homicidal maniac terrorizing the area, and he tries in an unusual way to prove his innocence. In this situation, Nemanja learns things about himself he would never have believed and discovers that he has a strange talent. Nemanja is a young man who has set out to visit his father to borrow some money so that he and his girlfriend, Maca, can get by. However, the rain has fallen so heavily that it has closed the road, and Nemanja has to spend the night at the “Točak” motel, along with Vladimir Korenko, a weapons dealer with a speech impediment; Milan Junić, a businessman who sells deadly drugs; Žan, Junić’s mistress, who has been paid to kill him; the married couple Ćorić; and the motel owner. During the night, they attack him, tie him up, accuse him of being the killer known as the Smiling Monster, who is terrorizing Serbia at the time, and decide to put him on trial. But then there is a twist, and Nemanja takes matters into his own hands...
