Full plot (contains spoilers)
After her father's disappearance, Lara Croft discovers a secret chamber containing his research on Himiko, the mythical Queen of Yamatai. She travels to the island of Yamatai, where she is captured by Mathias Vogel, a leader from the organization Trinity. She eventually reunites with her father, who is alive but hiding on the island. Lara infiltrates the Trinity camp to steal a satellite phone, and during the ensuing chaos, her father is captured. She forces open a tomb that has been sealed for two thousand years. Inside, they find Himiko's sarcophagus; a soldier becomes a zombie after touching her corpse. Mathias attempts to steal a piece of the corpse to create a bio-weapon. Lara and her father eventually defeat the remaining soldiers, but Richard becomes infected. He sacrifices himself by blowing up the tomb to stop the spread of the virus. Lara defeats Mathias and escapes the island with Lu and other survivors. Back in London, she discovers that Trinity is linked to her family's business and prepares for her next adventure.
