After being stolen by a greedy collector, Woody must navigate a complex web of toy identities and alliances to find his way back home.
The story
One year after the events of the first film, Woody and Buzz Lightyear are the co-leaders of Andy's toys. When Andy accidentally damages Woody, the toy is placed on a shelf, leading Woody to fear he will be discarded. After Woody is stolen by a greedy toy collector, Buzz and the other toys embark on a mission to rescue him. During their journey, they encounter other toys and face various obstacles, while Woody becomes conflicted about his future and his desire to return to his original owner.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following a mishap where Andy damages Woody's arm, the toy is sidelined, leading him to fear abandonment. He is subsequently stolen by Al McWhiggin, a greedy collector who intends to sell the 'Woody's Roundup' collection to a museum in Tokyo. Woody meets other toys in the collection, including Jessie and Stinky Pete, and becomes tempted by the idea of immortality in a museum. Buzz Lightyear and the other toys from Andy's collection launch a rescue mission, encountering a 'utility belt' version of Buzz named Ultra Buzz. The group naviges Al's apartment and eventually a high-stakes chase through an airport's baggage system. Amidst the chaos, Woody faces a choice between staying with his 'siblings' or returning to Andy. Ultimately, Woody convinces the others to join him at Andy's house. The film concludes with the toys reunited and repaired, while Al is left in despair over his failed deal.
