While interviewing him, Amy finds herself drawn to him, leading to a night together that complicates her self-imposed rules about relationships. Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 1992, Gordon Townsend tells his daughters Amy and Kim that monogamy is unrealistic. Twenty-three years later, Amy is a promiscuous columnist in NYC dating a gym-addict named Steven. Her boss, Dianna, assigns her to interview orthopedic surgeon Aaron Conners. After a night of drinking and sex, Amy panics and tries to break it off, but Aaron insists they date. Amy eventually falls for him, but their relationship is tested by her father's health issues and a falling out with her sister, Kim. After her father dies, Amy and Kim have a heated argument. Later, Amy misses a luncheon for Aaron due to a work call, leading to a major fight where Aaron suggests a break. After a bizarre sexual encounter with a 16-year-old intern leads to Amy being fired, Aaron receives an intervention from friends, including LeBron James, who urge him to fix things with Amy. Amy decides to change her life, clears her alcohol, and publishes her story on Aaron in Vanity Fair. Finally, at a game at Madison Square Garden, she tells Aaron she wants to make their relationship work, and they profess their love.
