The story
The planet Cybertron is ravaged by a civil war between the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the Decepticons, led by Megatron. Both factions seek the AllSpark, the source of all Cybertronian life. While the Autobots seek to find it to rebuild their home, the Decepticons want to use it to conquer the universe. In the present day, a Decepticon attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar leads to a search for the AllSpark. Simultaneously, Sam Witwicky, a teenager in the United States, discovers his new car is actually the Autobot Bumblebee, and he becomes a key figure in the struggle to protect the artifact from the Decepticons.

The planet Cybertron was ravaged by a civil war between the Autobots and the Decepticons over the AllSpark, the source of all Cybertronian life. Megatron found the AllSpark on Earth but was frozen in the Arctic in 1897; his coordinates were imprinted on a pair of glasses. In the present, the Decepticon Blackout attacks a military base in Qatar to find the AllSpark. In the U.S., Sam Witwicky discovers his car is the Autobot Bumblebee. He teams up with Mikaela Banes and the Autobots (Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet) to secure the AllSpark from the Decepticons. The conflict culminates in Mission City, where a massive battle ensues. Sam manages to destroy the AllSpark and kill Megatron, but the destruction of the artifact means Cybertron cannot be restored. The U.S. government decommissions the secret agency Sector 7, and the remaining Autobots are signaled to return to Earth.
