An inventor must team up with a group of heroic robots to stop a global threat from a mysterious bounty hunter.

The story

Five years after the Battle of Chicago, the Autobots are hunted by Cemetery Wind, a rogue CIA black-ops division. Simultaneously, a Cybertronian assassin named Lockdown is tasked by the 'Creators' to find and capture Optimus Prime. Amidst this, inventor Cade Yeager finds a damaged Optimus Prime in Mexico City. While his business partner and others urge him to turn the robot over to authorities, Cade chooses to repair him. As the hunt intensifies, Cade and his allies must navigate a conspiracy involving K.S.I. Industries and the search for 'Transformium' to protect the Autobots from both human and alien threats.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Sixty-five million years ago, the 'Creators' used 'Transformium' to cover Earth, wiping out the dinosaurs. In the present, K.S.I. Industries uses this metal to build drones. Following the Battle of Chicago, the Autobots are hunted by Harold Attinger's 'Cemetery Wind' unit. Lockdown, hunting for Optimus Prime for the Creators, kills Ratchet. Optimus is found by Cade Yeager in Texas. After a skirmish where Lucas Flannery is killed, Optimus summons Bumblebee, Hound, Drift, and Crosshairs. Cade discovers K.S.I. is using the 'Seed' to create more Transformium. In Chicago, the Autobots fight K.S.I. drones and are eventually separated when Lockdown abducts Optimus and Tessa Yeager. Cade and the Autobots board a ship to rescue them, joining forces with the Dinobots. They discover Galvatron is Megatron reincarnated. A massive battle ensues in Hong Kong involving the Autobots, Cemetery Wind, and Decepticons. Optimus wins the Dinobots' allegiance and defeats Lockdown after a final duel, while Cade defeats the remaining Decepticons. Optimus then flies into space with the Seed to confront the Creators.
