The alliance between humans and robots must hold as they face a growing threat from the Decepticons and the mysterious, powerful Fallen.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 17,000 B.C., a rogue Prime known as the Fallen is defeated by other Primes for violating a sacred rule. In the present day, two years after the battle of Mission City, the Autobots and humans form NEST to fight remaining Decepticons. When the Decepticons steal a shard of the AllSpark, Sam Witwicky finds another shard that brings appliances to life. The Decepticons resurrect Megatron, who teams with the Fallen to hunt Sam, who possesses knowledge of the AllSpark. After a series of battles where Optimus Prime is seemingly killed by Megatron, Sam and his allies seek out Seymour Simmons and a hidden Decepticon named Jetfire. They travel to Egypt to find the Matrix of Leadership. In a final battle at the Giza pyramid complex, the Constructicons form Devastator and the Fallen activates a Star Harvester. Sam is briefly killed but resurrected by the Primes, allowing him to use the Matrix to revive Optimus. Optimus, enhanced by Jetfire, destroys the Star Harvester and kills the Fallen. Megatron retreats, and the allies return to the United States.
