An inventor must team up with a mysterious professor to protect a powerful talisman from a looming extraterrestrial threat.

The story

In the wake of a global conflict, inventor Cade Yeager is gifted a mysterious talisman by a dying Transformer knight. He is soon recruited by an eccentric British professor, Sir Edmund Burton, to protect the artifact from a powerful Cybertronian sorceress and the ancient enemy, Unicron. As a new paramilitary task force, the Transformers Reaction Force (TRF), hunts for any remaining alien technology, Cade must navigate a dangerous landscape of hidden secrets and escalating tensions. The quest leads them toward a hidden truth about the history of Transformers on Earth, while the fate of both worlds hangs in the balance as the search for the talisman's true power intensifies.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 484 AD, Merlin secures a staff from the Knights of Iacon to help King Arthur. In the present, Optimus Prime is manipulated by the sorceress Quintessa to retrieve the staff, which would power Cybertron by draining Earth's energy core—the entity Unicron. On Earth, Cade Yeager and his allies are hunted by the TRF while trying to protect a talisman. They join forces with Sir Edmund Burton and Viviane Wembly, a descendant of Merlin, to find the staff hidden in a submerged spacecraft. After a series of skirmishes with the TRF and Decepticons, the group locates the staff. Viviane activates it, and Optimus Prime is freed from Quintessa's control. The Decepticons steal the staff, and a battle ensues at Stonehenge. Ultimately, the Autobots and humans launch an assault on Cybertron to stop Quintessa and the Decepticons. Viviane stops the energy transfer, and the two worlds are joined, allowing the Autobots to stay on a newly formed Cybertron. Quintessa survives, disguised as a human, to deal with the remaining threat of Unicron.
