Full plot (contains spoilers)
During target practice, 13-year-old Franzi hits his grandfather, Anton Wolf, instead of the empty wine bottle he usually aims at. Anton falls into a coma, and Franzi runs off in shock without confiding in anyone. Two days later, Anton succumbs to his injuries. Rumors spread through the village that Anton’s son Franz was the shooter, with the ongoing dispute between father and son over how to run the farm suspected as the motive. Franz insists that he is innocent, but his brother Josef seems to be the only one who believes him. When Anton’s grandson Franzi turns himself in to the police, they initially do not believe him either.
