A documentary gives four prominent figures in Berlin’s queer scene a platform to reflect on community, love, performance, and activism.
The story
Alternating personal archive footage with interviews, director Rosa von Praunheim gives the floor to BeV StroganoV, Ovo Maltine, Ichgola Androgyn, and Tima die Göttliche, four women active in Berlin’s queer scene during the 1980s and 1990s. They reflect on communal living, love, the stage, and cross-dressing, alongside their political activism: confronting HIV/AIDS, homophobia, the far right, and racism, while advocating recognition of the rights of sex workers and queer people.

Among other things, they talk about their relationship to communal living, love, the stage, and cross-dressing, as well as their political activism in the fight against HIV/AIDS, homophobia, the far right, and racism, and for recognition of the rights of sex workers and queer people.
