A family vacation in the French Alps turns into a psychological battlefield after a near-miss avalanche exposes a husband's cowardice.

The story

A Swedish businessman named Tomas, his Norwegian wife Ebba, and their two young children stay at a luxury resort in the French Alps. During an outdoor lunch, a controlled avalanche creates a terrifying powder cloud. While filming the event, Tomas panics and runs away, leaving Ebba and the children engulfed in fog. Although no one is physically hurt, the incident creates immediate marital tension. That evening, the couple faces confrontation as Ebba demands to know why Tomas fled, while Tomas insists on his version of events, leading to a series of arguments that threaten their relationship during the remainder of the trip.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

A Swedish businessman named Tomas, his Norwegian wife Ebba, and their two children stay at a luxury resort in the French Alps. During lunch, a controlled avalanche occurs; Tomas panics and runs away, leaving Ebba and the children in a fog. No one is injured, but the incident causes a rift. During dinner with friends, Ebba confronts Tomas about his cowardice, while Tomas denies his actions. Ebba later confronts her friend Charlotte about her open relationship. Tomas's old friend Mats and his girlfriend Fanny join the family, and the tension escalates as Ebba recounts the avalanche story to them. After a night of drinking and arguing, Tomas eventually admits his cowardice and unfaithfulness to Ebba while weeping with his children. On the final day, the family skis in silence; Tomas rescues Ebba from the fog but mocks her. As they leave by coach, Ebba flees the bus in a panic due to the driver's erratic behavior. The group ends up walking down the mountain road, with the family's dynamics permanently altered.
