The story

After jewel robber Charles Clancy, known as “Dedé,” is found dead, Marcel Mauriac—the fence Clancy had approached to dispose of the loot—becomes the focus of suspicion. Robert and Louis, the remaining members of Clancy’s gang, believe Mauriac killed him to claim the jewels. Meanwhile, Commissioner Borlay’s police, who have been watching Mauriac’s house, pursue those involved.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Charles Clancy, known as “Dedé,” is found dead by Marcel Mauriac after robbing a jewelry store. Mauriac is the fence he had approached to dispose of the loot. The rest of the gang, Robert and Louis, are certain that Mauriac killed him to get the jewels for himself, so they set a trap for him, using his lover Greta Nielsen and tasking her with finding the jewels, which she fails to locate. The police, led by Commissioner Borlay, who had been keeping Mauriac’s house under surveillance, pursue them. However, Robert kills Louis, and also kills Greta. During the shootout, Marcel manages to kill Robert and is captured, along with Leclerc, who had organized the robbery.
