The story

From 1994 to 2013, Marco and his associates spend their days attacking Black people and Arabs, fighting punks and redskins, and putting up far-right posters. Over time, Marco begins to question the hatred and contempt that shape his life. He sets out to change and leave behind the anger and violence consuming him. But those closest to him—including his girlfriend and a friend—remain committed to racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, and homophobic ideals, and struggle to recognize the person he is trying to become.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The film tells the story of Marco (Alban Lenoir) and his associates, Braguette (Samuel Jouy), Grand-Guy (Paul Hamy), and Marvin (Olivier Chenille), over a period of 19 years, from 1994 to 2013. They are what are known as skinheads, and spend their days beating up Black people and Arabs, fighting punks and redskins, and putting up far-right posters. But gradually, over the years, Marco begins to question himself and decides to repent, become a decent person, and abandon his hatred and contempt. We then follow the journey of a man trying by every means to leave behind the anger, violence, and stupidity consuming him, while the society around him, by contrast, becomes increasingly radicalized. Several people close to him, determined to hold on to their racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, and homophobic ideals, no longer recognize him—notably his girlfriend and one of his friends.
