Vampire Selene and a hybrid hero must protect a bloodline from its hidden past and a vengeful brother.

The story

In the present day, vampire Selene takes Michael to a safe house to confront the vampire regent Kraven, planning to stop him from killing Markus. After a battle in the Lycans' lair, a metal disc is discovered that matches a pendant originally worn by Sonja. Using knowledge obtained from Kraven's blood, Markus tracks Selene and Michael down. The pair eventually travel to the hideout of an exiled vampire historian, Tanis, to discover the significance of the pendant and the history of the first vampire and werewolf.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 1202, the three vampire elders captured William Corvinus, the first werewolf, and imprisoned him. In the present, Selene and Michael seek to stop the vampire Markus from killing the regent Kraven. After a skirmish, they find a metal disc matching a pendant held by Michael. They seek out historian Andreas Tanis, who reveals that Markus was the first vampire and William the first werewolf. Tanis explains that Selene's father built William's prison and that the location is encoded in Selene's blood. Markus kills Tanis to find them. Selene and Michael then visit Macaro, who is revealed to be Alexander Corvinus, the forefather of both races. Markus attacks, impales Michael, and drinks Selene's blood to find the prison location. He intends to rule with William as a hybrid master. Selene drinks Alexander's blood, gaining hybrid strength and sunlight immunity. She leads a team to the prison where she confronts Markus and the freed William. Michael awakens in hybrid form and kills William by ripping his head off. Selene kills Markus by pushing him into the rotor blades of a crashed helicopter.
