When a back injury derails a birthday horseback-riding getaway, a woman is unexpectedly paired with her ex while her friend tends to the injured man.
The story
Cost-cutting measures force surgeon Maria Wagner to leave her profession early, so she begins looking for a new job. Her friend Jovana Palinski, meanwhile, becomes involved with the much older, macho Steffen Berger, whose behavior seems to confirm Maria’s negative views of men. For Jovana’s 30th birthday, Steffen plans a show with his band and gives her a two-day horseback-riding trip in the mountains. When he suffers a slipped disc during the performance, he cannot join her and persuades Jovana to go alone. Her ex-boyfriend Finn Huber unexpectedly appears as her tour guide, leaving Jovana to spend the trip with someone who seems quite different from the person she remembers.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
As a result of cost-cutting measures, chief physician Horst Kauder tells surgeon Maria Wagner that she will be leaving the profession early, prompting her to look for a new job. Meanwhile, her friend Jovana Palinski gets involved with macho Steffen Berger. He is twice Jovana’s age and seems to confirm Maria’s worst prejudices about men. For Jovana’s 30th birthday, Steffen wants to impress her with a spectacular performance by his band. He also gives her a two-day horseback riding trip in the mountains. But when Steffen suffers a slipped disc during the performance, he cannot go on the trip and persuades Jovana to take it alone. Soon afterward, however, her ex-boyfriend Finn Huber turns up as her tour guide. Jovana therefore spends two days with her ex, who is quite different from how she remembers him. Meanwhile, Maria looks after Steffen, who is out of action and, contrary to expectations, turns out to be charming and witty.
