A collection of found footage horror stories is linked together by a mysterious frame narrative involving a shapeshifting being.
The story
V/H/S/85 is an anthology of five short horror films presented as found footage from VHS tapes. These segments are linked together by a sixth frame narrative, which is presented as a documentary. The narrative follows a team of scientists at Stamer University who are studying a shapeshifting being named 'Rory'. The anthology includes a variety of scenarios, including a group of friends at a lake, a news crew during a 1985 earthquake in Mexico City, and a performance artist using virtual reality technology. Each segment contributes to the overarching mystery of the 'Total Copy' frame narrative.
