Full plot (contains spoilers)
Fifteen-year-old Émile Chamodot is a fairly gifted high school student who lives in a caravan with his rather eccentric parents, Bernard (Benoît Poelvoorde) and Annie (Valérie Bonneton). One day, he meets Pauline, the daughter of an internationally renowned conductor and an amateur musician herself, and falls in love with her. She invites him to come and see her perform in Venice during the holidays. Émile’s parents agree, but decide to take him there in the caravan. The day before they leave, they are joined by Fabrice, their eldest son, who has impulsively quit his job as a cook. The trip and their stay in Venice are therefore going to be eventful.
