In a near-future Germany of closed borders and neglected transit camps, a police officer returns to the camp after killing a refugee and becomes involved with the victim’s sister.

The story

In the near future, Germany has closed its external borders, confining migrants to remote transit zones that have deteriorated into slums where people are left to fend for themselves. During a police raid, a fight breaks out between officer Volt and refugee Hesham, and Volt kills him. He leaves the camp unseen, but guilt soon draws him back in civilian clothes. There he meets Hesham’s sister, Lablanche, and the two begin an affair. Their relationship unfolds under the weight of Volt’s concealed responsibility for her brother’s death.

In the near future, Germany’s external borders are closed. Migrants are confined to remote transit zones that have deteriorated into slums and are left to fend for themselves. During a police raid, a fight breaks out between the police officer Volt and the refugee Hesham, whom Volt kills. Volt manages to leave the area unseen. Tormented by guilt, he returns to the camp in civilian clothes and meets the victim’s sister, Lablanche. They begin an affair. He confesses to killing Hesham and hands her his service weapon so she can take revenge on him. But she does not shoot him, because she does not want the whole world to talk about nothing but the “dead cop” afterward. She throws the gun to the ground, where it is later found by a young refugee.
