As the crisis escalates, Will must navigate the chaos to protect his family and help manage the escalating global conflict against the encroaching machines.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Will Radford, a DHS officer, monitors the world via a surveillance program, causing tension with his children, Faith and Dave. When meteorites strike Earth and machines emerge to attack humans, Will and his friend Sandra (NASA) identify it as an alien invasion. Will discovers that the 'Disruptor' hacker is actually his son, Dave, who reveals that the government knew about the aliens and their data-hungry nature. Despite warnings, the government activated 'Goliath,' a system that attracted the aliens. Will and Dave's team of hackers attempt to stop the machines but are largely decimated. In the climax, Will uses a special code to shut down Goliath, successfully deactivating the alien machines. The military halts its bombing of the headquarters. Will and Dave are hailed as heroes, while the corrupt Director Briggs is arrested. Will ultimately declines a new government role to spend time with his family.
