At Lake Königssee, a hotelier’s son meets his father’s rival’s niece while concealing his identity.

The story

At Lake Königssee, hotelier Oskar Scherzinger runs an affiliated shipping company and is at odds with Daxltoni, a fishing-business owner who claims the shipping rights for himself. Scherzinger’s son Gerhard, traveling incognito, meets Liesel, Daxltoni’s niece, who has come from elsewhere. At his father’s insistence, Gerhard is supposed to marry Maria, the daughter of bus operator Köstler. Maria, however, is already in love with musician Charly. These intersecting romantic circumstances and the shipping-rights dispute shape the setup.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

At Lake Königssee, hotelier Oskar Scherzinger is the dominant figure and also runs the affiliated shipping company. The only person who is a thorn in his side is Daxltoni, a fishing-business owner who claims the shipping rights for himself. Then Scherzinger’s son Gerhard, incognito, meets the pretty Liesel, a niece of Daxltoni’s who has come from elsewhere. But at his father’s insistence, Gerhard is supposed to marry Maria, daughter of bus operator Köstler. Maria, however, is already in love with the musician Charly. Eventually, Gerhard can no longer conceal from Liesel that he is Scherzinger’s son. The reluctant Scherzinger becomes more yielding only when a document concerning Daxltoni’s shipping rights turns up. In the end, nothing stands in the way of Liesel and Gerhard’s happiness, or Maria and Charly’s. And two more people have found each other: Oskar Scherzinger and Maria’s mother also marry.
