Weihnachten im Olymp (2025)

On December 24, the upscale Olymp department store is still bustling with activity before the customers are seen out and the doors are closed for Christmas Eve. The owner and director, Lale, plans to spend the evening alone in her office, as she has in previous years. During a final inspection after closing time, she catches her security employee Justin in the bedding department performing a striptease for his girlfriend Maja, whom he had smuggled into the store in the hope of some time alone together. Reminded of a night she once shared with her youthful love, Hans, Lale unexpectedly gives Justin only a warning. On his subsequent patrol, Justin comes across Nathalie, an influencer active on social media who is using the store’s premises to take photos and videos, and Holger, Lale’s accountant, who, after closing, couldn’t resist trying on a dress on display and having Nathalie do his hair and makeup. When Justin tries to arrest them, they run off. In the toy department, he eventually encounters Anne, a homeless cleaner who had planned to spend the night at Olymp with her children, Marie and Toni, after her shift and is desperately searching for them after a game of hide-and-seek. Meanwhile, in the food department, Lale runs into Hans, who had also sneaked into the store to surprise her at his former workplace with a dinner she had prepared. Their reunion stirs mixed feelings in Lale, since forty years earlier Hans had abruptly left her at the urging of her father, who disapproved of their relationship. Only when Hans returns the money her father had tried to use to bribe him back then and admits his mistakes does Lale realize that she had also wronged Hans, who had lost his apprenticeship at Olymp as a result of their affair. When the security alarm goes off and a valuable diamond necklace is found to be missing from the jewelry department, everyone still in the store comes under suspicion. From the surveillance footage, Justin can see that Nathalie stole the rare piece of jewelry and manages to catch her just in time. In a subsequent questioning, the reformed influencer admits that she had planned to use the proceeds to pay for various cosmetic procedures and get closer to her ideal of beauty. Seeing potential in Nathalie and wanting to help her, Lale decides not to press charges and instead offers her a sales apprenticeship, which Nathalie gratefully accepts. Afterwards, everyone gathers for dinner. Holger, whose mother recently moved into a care home and who has lived alone ever since, offers Anne a place to stay with her children for the time being. Maja plucks up the courage to tell Justin that she finally wants to introduce him to her family. Nathalie realizes that she can no longer give in to the pressure of social media and shows her followers her unmade-up face for the first time. Lale lets Hans know that she hopes they can grow close again.
