Full plot (contains spoilers)
Five middle-aged couples take part in professionally led couples-therapy sessions during a wellness weekend at a castle hotel. Each couple brings its own problems up during the therapy session. Jan confesses to his partner Kasa, who wants security, that he is broke. Heinz-Peter admits to his long-term partner Michaela that for several years he was two-timing her and was also in love with another woman. Maren desperately wants a child with Dirk, who has been struggling with erectile problems ever since she expressed this wish. By contrast, Thomas wants a child with 50-year-old Therese. Malte and Nina have known each other since school but have recently grown apart; during the therapy session, Nina admits to an affair. Most of the couples grow closer again over the weekend, discuss their problems, and look positively toward a future together. At the end of the weekend, the couples are asked whether they would choose the other as their partner again in a new life. Only Michaela, who was cheated on, says she is unsure.
