The story
Developer Günter Günzelsen plans to demolish old apartment buildings in Knöllerup’s harbor district for a profitable shopping center. Werner and his biker friends live there alongside other low-income residents, and they do everything they can to thwart the plan. Günzelsen sends police officers Bruno and Helmut after them; when that fails, he sends Nazi thugs to drive them away. Werner and his friends remain persistent, resisting the attacks as they try to protect their homes from the planned redevelopment of the harbor district.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The Knöllerup developer Günter Günzelsen wants to have a few old apartment buildings in the harbor district demolished. Among those living there, alongside other low-income residents, are Werner and his biker buddies. Günzelsen plans to build a profitable shopping center on the site. Werner and his friends do everything they can to thwart his plans. He sends the two familiar police officers, Bruno and Helmut, after them, and, when that doesn’t work, even sends Nazi thugs to drive them away. But Werner and his friends are persistent and fend off all the “attacks.” Disguised as Adolf Hitler, who wants to build a new Reich on excrement, Werner persuades the Nazis to clog up Günzelsen’s entire plumbing system (“Shitting for the Fatherland!”). Walter Röhrich, Werner’s master plumber, eventually brings in his latest invention, which works using a large piston system and overpressure. As he puts it, it is his contribution to “hygiene removal and environmental disposal.” The pump causes the enormous buildup of excrement in the plumbing system to explode. Röhrich had to be smuggled onto the construction site under a false name (Siemek – Ruck Zuck Pipe Cleaning), since he is at odds with Günzelsen. He had driven his Hanomag Kurier into a billboard column, which then crashed onto Günzelsen’s Mercedes-Benz SL. To make amends, he had to repair Günzelsen’s garage roof for free, where another catastrophe occurred. Finally, on the construction site, Günzelsen recognizes the disguised plumber just as he is about to drill into the gas tank, triggering yet another explosion. The city’s new Green Party planning officer, who—unlike his predecessor—refuses to be bribed by Günzelsen, then shuts down the construction site. Werner and his friends, along with the district’s other residents, have won and can stay.
