In a dystopian future where children are strictly regulated, seven identical sisters must maintain a single identity to survive.
The story
In a dystopian 2073, overpopulation has led to a strict one-child policy enforced by the European Federation's Child Allocation Bureau, which places illegal children into indefinite cryosleep. To protect his granddaughters, Terrence Settman raises seven identical septuplets in secret, training them to share a single identity: 'Karen Settman.' Each sister is only permitted to leave the house on the day corresponding to her name. However, the secret is jeopardized when Monday fails to return home, leading to a series of events that puts the sisters in the crosshairs of the Child Allocation Bureau.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In a dystopian 2073, overpopulation has led to a strict one-child policy enforced by the Child Allocation Bureau (C.A.B.). Terrence Settman secretly raises his identical septuplet granddaughters, naming them after the days of the week and training them to live as a single identity, 'Karen Settman.' When Monday fails to return home, Tuesday is detained by C.A.B. agents and meets Nicolette Cayman, the bureau's head. Cayman orders the sisters' elimination. During the ensuing conflict, Sunday is killed. The sisters discover that a co-worker, Jerry, may have betrayed them. Wednesday confronts Jerry, learning that 'Karen' received a promotion by bribing Cayman. After Jerry is killed by a sniper, the sisters attempt to protect Wednesday, but she is eventually killed. Saturday is also killed after revealing Monday's secret to a C.A.B. guard, Adrian Knowles. Friday sacrifices herself to help Thursday rescue Monday from a holding cell. Thursday eventually smuggles herself into the C.A.B. headquarters with Adrian's help, where they witness children being incinerated rather than preserved. At a fundraiser, Thursday and Monday fight, and Thursday accidentally shoots Monday. Tuesday and Adrian broadcast the incineration footage, causing chaos. Monday emerges with a gun but is shot by Joe, the security chief, whom Adrian then kills. Monday reveals she is pregnant and dies. The Child Allocation Act is abolished, and Cayman is sentenced to death. The survivors watch the twins develop in an artificial womb.
