The story

In 1957, immediately after co-hosting a 39-hour polio telethon in Miami, entertainers Lanny Morris and Vince Collins fly north to open the new showroom of a New Jersey hotel run by mobster Sally Sanmarco, who has intimidated them into appearing. In their hotel suite, the nude body of Miami college student Maureen O'Flaherty is found in a bathtub. Maureen, an aspiring journalist working for the summer at the duo's Miami hotel (also owned by Sanmarco), had interviewed them in Miami for her college newspaper just before she disappeared.
