The story
In a small medieval farming town characterized by a rigid social hierarchy and patriarchal culture, a reclusive fisherwoman faces ostracization due to her persistent fish smell and her refusal to enter into an institutionalized marriage. As the mockery regarding her spinster status intensifies, she sarcastically commissions a husband made of wicker from a master weaver. The creation of the Wicker Husband leads to a romance so pure that it begins to cause absolute chaos among the residents of the closed-minded community.
