Full plot (contains spoilers)

Football-obsessed Willi Kuckuck, the owner of a photography studio, is president of the 1. FC Jungborn football club. The club trains on a field converted from a farmer named Butenbrink’s land, with the purchase price being paid off in installments. The whole undertaking is financed by Willi Kuckuck and his sister Elvira, who lives in Brazil. She was married to a wealthy coffee plantation owner and became very rich as his sole heir after his death. For this reason, she promised to transfer 15,000 deutsche marks to each of Willi Kuckuck’s three daughters when they got married. Since Willi Kuckuck mainly photographs bridal couples, it is easy for him to fake the weddings by manipulating the photographs behind his daughters’ backs and pocket the money. The last deception succeeds too, thanks to the help of coach Turnegger. But then the scam is in danger of being exposed when Kuckuck’s sister announces that she is coming to visit. Kuckuck manages to get his daughters and their supposed husbands to play happy married couples, more or less willingly. This proves difficult, since two of the daughters are already in relationships, and the supposed groom of the third daughter is not only married but also the father of an infant. After all sorts of turmoil, the scam is exposed and Kuckuck’s sister leaves in anger. Kuckuck is all the more surprised when his sister turns up at what is supposed to be the club’s final meeting. She has not only bought the field, but has also signed up Uwe Seeler—someone Willi Kuckuck had never heard of—as a player for three years.
