Full plot (contains spoilers)
In present-day Paris, Diana Prince receives a photograph from World War I that prompts her to remember her past. She was raised on the hidden island of Themyscira as a warrior. In 1918, she rescues Steve Trevor, an American spy, whose plane crashed near her home. To stop a deadly gas from being released by the Germans, she joins forces with him and a small team of allies. During their journey, she faces the reality of war and the influence of Ares, the god of war. She eventually confronts Ares, who reveals her true identity as the 'god-killer' and the daughter of Zeus. After Steve's ultimate sacrifice to destroy the gas, Diana chooses to believe in the goodness of humanity, defeats Ares, and continues her mission as Wonder Woman.
