After a tree trunk kills Gary, the group becomes lost and separated. Milla goes missing, and the others find a plaque for the 'Foundation,' a group of settlers who believed the end of the United States was near. Adam is captured and later seen being moved by men in masks. During a confrontation, Adam kills one man but the others capture the remaining group. They are taken to the Foundation's headquarters and put before a court. Adam is sentenced to death and executed. Jen, attempting to save the others, strikes a deal with the leader, Venable: she offers herself as a wife and mother to his children, and Darius as a professional to solve their problems. She is accepted into the community. Months later, Jen's father, Scott, arrives to find her. Jen shoots him to protect her secret, but later releases him. She eventually escapes with him, and they are joined by others. In the final act, Jen discovers she is pregnant by Venable.
