A reimagined adaptation of the classic Brontë novel explores the intense, tumultuous bond between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff on the Yorkshire Moors.
The story
In 19th-century England, Mr. Earnshaw returns to his estate of Wuthering Heights on the Yorkshire Moors with a young boy he rescued from the streets, whom he introduces to his daughter, Cathy, and her companion, Nelly Dean. Cathy becomes protective of the boy and names him "Heathcliff." As time passes, the pair become inseparable. By the time they reach adulthood, the estate has fallen into disrepair due to Mr. Earnshaw's worsening habits. Cathy seeks to escape the bleak environment by courting a wealthy neighbor, Edgar Linton, while the complex, burgeoning feelings between her and Heathcliff create a volatile dynamic of love and resentment.
