A rookie rabbit cop and a con artist fox must team up to solve a mystery involving missing predators in a bustling animal metropolis.
The story
In a world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, Judy Hopps, a rabbit from rural Bunnyburrow, fulfills her childhood dream of becoming the first rabbit police officer in the city of Zootopia. On her first day at the Zootopia Police Department (ZPD), Judy is assigned to parking duty by Chief Bogo, who underestimates her potential. During her shift, she is hustled by red fox con artist Nick Wilde, who tells her she will never be a real cop. After a series of events, Judy finds herself forced to team up with Nick to investigate the mysterious disappearance of several predators, including a local merchant's husband, before she loses her badge.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In the animal metropolis of Zootopia, Judy Hopps, a rabbit and rookie cop, teams up with Nick Wilde, a cynical fox con artist, to solve the mystery of missing predators. They discover that the missing animals have 'gone savage' and are being held in an asylum by Mayor Leodore Lionheart. While they initially believe a group called 'Night Howlers' is responsible, they eventually discover that the true culprit is Assistant Mayor Dawn Bellwether. Bellwether orchestrated a plot using 'Night Howler' flowers—which have psychotropic effects—to turn predators savage and seize power. After a tense confrontation in a museum where Bellwether's plot is exposed, the predators are cured, and Judy is reinstated as a hero. However, Judy's public comments about the predators' physiology cause a wave of fear and discrimination. She eventually discovers the truth about the flowers and reconciles with Nick, who becomes the first fox police officer.
