The story
In 1979, seven high school students live in a peaceful country town and spend their days playing pranks. Led by the prank genius known as Bike Basket, the group includes Saijo, Takaaki, Inoue, Chiba, their junior Jamie, and Tsujimura. Their carefree routine is disrupted when a new local police officer arrives and repeatedly gets in their way. The students are also irritated by the officer’s beautiful wife, Kanako. Their pranks and clashes with the officer launch what the story describes as a 700-day battle.

In 1979, seven high school students who love pranks more than anything live in a peaceful country town. Led by the prank genius known as Bike Basket, the group also includes Saijo, a womanizer who is good at fighting; Takaaki, whose deviation score is equal to zero?; Inoue, who gets excellent grades and is handsome and kind; Chiba, a big eater; their junior Jamie, who is suited to dressing as a girl; and Tsujimura, the king of repeaters. They spend every day at high school pulling pranks. But their carefree life is thrown into disarray by the arrival of a certain man: the newly appointed local police officer. Not only does he repeatedly stand in their way, but what makes it even more irritating is that his wife, Kanako, is a great beauty! And so begins a 700-day battle…
