Georges Flavier, once a renowned Parisian hairdresser, has lived alone since the death of his son and his wife’s departure. One night, he saves a stranger from drowning in the Canal Saint-Martin. The man, Gus, had tried to kill himself after his girlfriend dumped him. Georges offers him a place to stay and sets out to help him rediscover his taste for life. When Gus discovers that his rescuer was once a virtuoso hairdresser, he encourages him to regain his former glory.
