Full plot (contains spoilers)
Samson Segal watches his neighbor Gillian Ward through a camera he has installed. He learns that Gillian is having an affair with John Burton, her daughter’s handball coach. Only Gillian’s best friend, Tara, also knows about the relationship. When Gillian decides to end the affair, her husband Tom is murdered. The traces found at the scene bear similarities to the characteristics of a serial killer who has already killed two women. Samson comes under suspicion in the investigation and goes into hiding. He seeks shelter with John Burton. John is also suspected, as he had to leave the police force because of rape allegations. The circumstances of the case seem unclear, since the serial killer’s previous victims were women, whereas Tom is a man. While the police search for Samson, Gillian and her daughter take shelter with Tara.
