A suspended desk-bound secret agent’s vacation turns into an absurd undercover mission when a hairdresser insists on joining him.
The story
After a major mistake on a long-running covert operation, desk agent Ertan—who has no field experience—is temporarily suspended. He heads on vacation with his wife, Seda, but their holiday takes an unexpected turn when they meet Zafer, a hairdresser, and his wife, Aynur, at the hotel. Zafer discovers Ertan is a secret agent and agrees to keep the secret only if Ertan lets him join the unfinished operation. The hotel is also hosting a dangerous gang that the agency has been pursuing, forcing Ertan to face the mission while trying to manage a vacation that has become anything but ordinary.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
D.I.S.C.O. begins with the story of an agent who botches a long-running covert operation. Ertan (Kerem Özdoğan), a desk agent with no field experience, makes a major mistake and is temporarily suspended from duty. After this failure, Ertan sets off on vacation with his wife, Seda (Yıldız Çağrı Atiksoy), but their holiday takes an unexpected turn when they cross paths at the hotel with Zafer (Giray Altınok), a hairdresser who was named “Bandırma’s Best Blow-Dryer,” and his wife, Aynur (Özge Özacar). When Zafer discovers that Ertan is actually a secret agent, he makes one condition for keeping the secret: Ertan must let him join the unfinished operation. By coincidence, the hotel is also where a dangerous gang that D.I.S.C.O. has been pursuing is staying. Ertan is forced to confront the gang, whose presence will change the course of his mission. With no field experience, Ertan tries to complete the operation with Zafer at his side, while unexpected support comes from Seda and Aynur. This division of roles makes the situation even more comical and absurd. As a result, Ertan’s spy mission and ordinary vacation life become intertwined; action-packed encounters are presented in a humorous tone, and the interactions among the characters keep the pace brisk throughout the film.
