After a series of murders, a woman’s psychiatric evaluation and a police investigation unfold through interwoven perspectives.
The story
After a series of murders, Claude is arrested and temporarily sent by the prosecutor to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation of suspected dissociative identity disorder. Dr. Brennac is asked to examine her, at the request of Karl Freud, his colleague officially assigned to the case. Brennac must determine whether Claude has the condition and attempt to disentangle her different personalities. In parallel, flashbacks trace the days before Claude’s arrest, chiefly through the police investigation. Matthias, a taciturn investigator who paints in his spare time, has been sidelined, but police commissioner Ray calls him back to assist with the case.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Arrested after a series of murders, Claude is temporarily sent by the prosecutor to a psychiatric hospital for an evaluation of suspected dissociative identity disorder. At the request of Karl Freud, his colleague officially assigned to the case, Dr. Brennac is compelled to study Claude’s case in order to rule her condition out or confirm it, and then disentangle her different personalities. Meanwhile, through flashbacks, the days leading up to Claude’s arrest are experienced mainly through the investigation conducted by the police team Matthias belonged to. Matthias is a taciturn investigator who paints in his spare time; after being sidelined, he is called in to help with the case by Ray, his police commissioner.
