The story
Ester, a woman in her early sixties, is in a less-than-successful marriage. She is expected to manage work and home while also fulfilling the role of a good maternal and paternal grandmother. Her life changes when her female relative, Aunt Agnes, dies. The death opens new opportunities for Ester and prompts her to consider pursuing her dreams.

At the center is Ester, a woman in her early sixties, played by Mona Malm. Ester is in a less-than-successful marriage in which she is expected to take care of work and home and to be a good maternal and paternal grandmother. But when a female relative, Aunt Agnes, dies, everything changes. Agnes’s death gives Ester new opportunities and prompts her to live out her dreams.
