The story

Full plot (contains spoilers)
Harry Peel has made a name for himself as the author of a sensational novel and is surrounded by adoring women. At the same time, a criminal whom he once handed over to the police and immortalized in his novel attempts to attack him. But the attempt fails, and the gangster is locked up again. The Man Without Nerves also has another problem on his hands, though this one is more romantic in nature: one of his friends has several creditors demanding their money back. Harry therefore gets the idea that his buddy absolutely needs a rich bride. When the woman he has chosen is about to drift away against her will in a tethered balloon, the sensational novelist rescues her at the risk of his life. As was bound to happen, the two fall in love and become a couple. His friend’s money troubles—through the kind of miraculous coincidence found in films—resolve themselves without further ado.
