The story
An old inventor is wasting away with grief after his flying-car prototype is stolen. Gusson is behind the theft, and he also targets the inventor’s daughter, believing the medallion she wears contains the construction plans. Harry Peel, a resourceful jack-of-all-trades, wants to protect the young woman.

An old inventor’s prototype of a “flying car” has been stolen. Overwhelmed with grief, he is slowly wasting away. A certain Gusson is behind the theft. Now he is also after the inventor’s daughter, suspecting that the medallion she wears around her neck contains the construction plans. Jack-of-all-trades Harry Peel wants to protect the young woman, but he cannot prevent the villain from getting hold of the medallion. With the help of Kitty, a street girl, Harry soon manages to recover the heirloom. When Gusson is about to carry out his next robbery—a theft of paintings—Peel has already been warned and manages to foil this villainous scheme as well. While pursuing Gusson, Peel succeeds in finding the missing prototype and returning it to its rightful owner. A gentleman of the old school, Harry even manages at last to get Kitty off the streets.
