Ein fast perfekter Seitensprung (1996)

Henny, a self-assured dressmaker, lives with her eccentric parents in a village near Cuxhaven. She is engaged to Martin, the son of the aristocratic family that owns the local shipyard. Shortly before their planned wedding, Henny learns that Martin’s overbearing mother has been spying on her private life. In response, Henny refuses to say “I do” at the altar and makes a run for it. Without a cent to her name, she flies to Vienna, where she meets Sigi. Henny takes Sigi for a wealthy bachelor, but in reality he is a married window dresser. His marriage is in crisis, and his wife constantly, and wrongly, suspects him of infidelity. Henny and Sigi fall in love, but when Henny discovers that Sigi is married and has a daughter, she runs away again. Sigi then leaves his wife and follows Henny.
