Ein irres Feeling (1984)

At the center of the story are three boys named Tim, Rolf, and Freddy, their summer romances, and their wholesome-erotic “adventures” with three young girls who, as befits a comedy, embody three very different types of women. There is shy, timid, pretty Julie; then there is the plump Alfa, who is always thinking about food, has the indomitable temperament of a butcher’s dog, and still has a mind not yet completely clouded by her hormones; and finally there is self-assured, sexy Tina, with her flowing mane of hair and a real knack for attracting the guys. For almost all of them, their hormones are going haywire; it’s an “insane feeling.” All the girls have a crush on one of the boys: Tim, a motor-vehicle mechanic, a truly handsome young man who is deeply convinced of his own charms and has an easy time with the girls. Until now, the three schoolgirls had been inseparable, but at the sight of Tim all three immediately get worked up, and each plans to snare him—a development that does little good for the young women’s previously unbreakable friendship. Tina and Julie in particular compete for handsome Tim, especially after he dives into the waters of a lake where they are on an outing, showing off his impressive six-pack, to rescue the young women after their inflatable boat has just sprung a leak. But Tim is very sure of himself and quite calculating. He wants to land Tina when he learns that her father owns a shipyard and could sponsor a trip to the south of France for him. Tim wants to go there with his buddy Freddy to take part in a bowling tournament with a 50,000-mark prize. Tina therefore suspects she has a particularly good chance with Tim. And she is right. At the end, when Julie sees Tim and Tina locked in an intimate embrace, she is sure that Tim will never be faithful, and chooses to stay single, gazing melancholically into the distance from the lakeshore.
