Ein Scheusal zum Verlieben (2000)

When Anna, the wife of heart surgeon Dr. Benjamin Hofer, dies giving birth to their daughter, he becomes a real nightmare for the people around him. He takes out his frustration in particular on Julia, the nanny he employs. Nevertheless, the lovely Julia manages to discover a soft side beneath the tough exterior of the professionally dedicated surgeon. In the end, he falls so deeply in love with her that he hands a complicated heart transplant over to a colleague whom he has always called incompetent, even though deep down he has always known that his colleague is capable of performing even complicated transplants. The story takes a dramatic, romantic turn when Benjamin oversteps his authority, takes over an ambulance, and tells the driver to head to the airport with the siren blaring. There, he catches Julia just in time: she has already checked in for her flight to Manila and is sitting on the plane, ready for departure. Claiming that he is a doctor, he gets past security; the flight is called off, and Benjamin takes a seat beside Julia on the plane. The story ends with him confessing his love to Julia, and the two of them kissing.
