Full plot (contains spoilers)
The renowned doctor Professor Markus Gärtner becomes the new director of the Heart Research Center. To make settling into Freiburg as easy as possible for the widower and single father, hospital director Professor Weissing hires a relocation agency to take care of his wishes and needs from then on. The agency sends its best employee, Lina Baumann, but she seems unable to get through to the brusque, humorless doctor. He dislikes every apartment she selects for him. He is also annoyed by all the activities they do together. He has nothing but work on his mind and would rather start the new project immediately. His manner alienates the wealthy Mr. Hofmeister, the Heart Research Center’s most important sponsor. Without his financial support, the project cannot go ahead. To prevent that from happening, Professor Weissing invites the millionaire to a luxurious wellness weekend, which Dr. Gärtner is also supposed to attend so he can explain the research project to the potential sponsor in detail. Since Dr. Gärtner is rather brusque, the cheerful Lina is asked to accompany him. When a misunderstanding leads Mr. Hofmeister to believe that she is Markus Gärtner’s partner, Markus has even more reason to agree to go. Reluctantly, he goes along with the lie. But the more often the two defend their story, the more they seem like a real couple, and they begin to develop feelings for each other. Lina is caught in a dilemma, since she is actually in a committed relationship, and her boyfriend and agency boss, Daniel, has no idea that he no longer has her heart. Only when Lina breaks things off with Daniel does Markus realize that they belong together.
