The story
A seductive amateur lawyer devises a scheme to bring a married woman he desires to his home. Their meeting is meant to be brief, as she needs to return before her husband does. But the two fall asleep and wake only in the morning, leaving her distraught at the prospect of her husband discovering she has been away. He tries to comfort her.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
He is a seducer and, in addition, an amateur lawyer who devises a scheme to bring to his home Her, a married woman he desires. Although the meeting was supposed to last only a short while, since the woman had to get home before her husband returned, the lovers fall asleep and do not wake until morning. She is distraught at the thought of her husband’s reaction when he discovers she is missing, while He tries to comfort her and even offers to marry her. Then the husband arrives. While She hides in the bathroom, He receives him, expecting to face the anger of a cuckolded husband. But nothing of the sort happens. The husband does not know that his wife spent the night away because he did not return home either. He has come to ask the lawyer for an alibi to explain his own night away. He then thinks of sending the husband out of town for two days.
