Faltenfrei (2021)

Stella Martin is a successful author and an icon of the beauty industry; her products in the Wrinkle-Free line are highly sought after. However, her sustained success has gone to her head. Stella turns into a criticism-proof, cynical alpha woman who rules those around her mercilessly. Her family has relegated her to the sidelines. After her 60th birthday, her star seems to be fading: her latest products are generating a substantial loss, and her husband Georg is said to be having an affair with a younger woman. In shock, she runs across the street, collides with a cyclist, and suffers a concussion. As a result, she decides to undergo cosmetic surgery at Dr. Arthur Schenk’s clinic, concealing the fact that she is taking painkillers. The anesthesia therefore does not work, and Stella falls off the operating table. After the fall, she can suddenly hear what the people around her think of her; it is not very flattering. Stella is initially horrified, but begins listening to other people again and makes amends, including with her two daughters, Johanna and Fiona.
