An exuberant 80-year-old tap dancer seeks companionship while navigating the complicated ties of his family.

The story

Salomon Bellinsky, an exuberant 80-year-old whose passion is tap dancing, tries to resist the idea of growing old by dividing his time between dance lessons and seeking a companion through personal ads. This leads him to Violette, a history and geography teacher, from whom he conceals that he is married. At home, his wife Geneviève prefers to remain infantilized by her caregiver, Mr. Mootoousamy. Their daughter Sarah is struggling to find her place between a father she loves but who irritates her and a mother she no longer understands. When Sarah discovers she is pregnant, she faces the challenge of taking responsibility for her future and building a family of her own.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Salomon Bellinsky, 80, full of life and exuberance, has one passion: tap dancing. He fights against being buried too soon, splitting his time between dance lessons and looking for a companion through the personal ads. That is how he meets Violette, a history and geography teacher, from whom he hides his real family situation: the fact that he has a wife, Geneviève, who dreams of nothing more than quietly continuing to be infantilized by her home aide, her true guardian angel, Mr. Mootoousamy. There is also Sarah, his daughter, who lives with François and struggles to find her place between her father, whom she adores but who annoys her, and her mother, whom she no longer understands. She learns that she is pregnant and must take responsibility for building her life and a new family...
